Adam Phillips 4/10/07 LITTLE FOOT

I liked the colors in this animation, there was always a green color in the shot and it was a vibrant green. He also made it so that the objects in the foreground were in focus and the background was blurred which is a very good technique. The shots were fairly simple with a regular establishing shot and then having little foot just wander around on the scene. He used some cool effects to make the sun glare and the foggy appearance in the field. He had the camera pan up when the boy picked up the rock off the floor which made it feel more "movie-like" rather than animated.

3/3 Animation

The animation was interesting in the sense that it was put together uing things such as food to create a shape and the sounds that were used as the effects were all the sounds u would hear form those particular items. I also liked how it morphed into everything rather than just cut from one shot to another. It helped the piece "flow" better.

3/27/07 BLOG

The Radiohead music video that we watched in class today was interesting, it was a different approach to animation than what we'v been shown. The detail of the mouth movements was very good, it had the shape of a real mouth when the figure was singing and the mouth stayed open when the long notes were held. Very good focus on the detail of the mouth to be ontime with the singing. I also like the "wipes" they used when changing scenes, it was almost as it the next scene fell ontop of the old one wiping in away. They had a good shot of when the guy was singing and you can see him through the window and also see the building from the outside looking in. I also liked how the credits had the picture of the keyframes from FLASH.

LEMONY SNICKETS 3/20/07

I liked how the credits were placed into certain shapes that would be moving to attract your eye and then when the name appeared, the movement would stop or slow down so that our eye can focus on the name and read it. Also, the credits that were put into the rain cloud that followed the car as it drove down the road was a clever idea. The whole credits idea was very well thought out, it almost seemed to be a "pre-movie" of the movie as the credits ran. Even at the end when they were doing the cast, they had a texturized background which made it stand out more than having a black background of a typical film.

2/27 DANISH ANIMATION

The Danish animation was more of a drawn out animation that looked to be scanned in and then imported to flash and so forth. The movement was well done with the bicycle to the eye movement as something was being read from a letter. I also liked how they went into detail enough to make the clouds move during the storm. I liked how the stars at night twinkled to give it a more realistic feeling. The camera zoomed into shots which gave it a sort of "movie" feel although it was an animation.

2/20 DISNEY BLOG

The animation from Disney was well done, it used many lighting effects to achieve the idea of the sun shinning down. The animals were very animated in their actions and sounds and movements. The songs that were played in the animation were played into the animals sounds very cleverly to make it seem as if the animals were the ones making the music to the song, The way that the piece was put together so that the windmill did not hurt the bird or the eggs was also very clever.
